Two friends in Hyderabad and Vijayawada did 108 lamp pooja for Shirdi Sai Baba

Shirdi Saibaba 108 lamps pooja

Om Sai Ram friends,

This article is an experience of how two beautiful friends living in Hyderabad and Vijayawada came across StarSai and decided to do a 108-lamp pooja. Why does this make me happy? It is because I have spent all my life spreading the value of lighting lamps.

The last sentence my lovely father spoke to us before he left for Sai was, “No matter which day it is, let us go to the temple and light lamps.”

My Father served in the Ganesha and Shiva temple for over a decade. So, I am happy to feature these photographs of Saibaba and lamps sent by the two friends.

I haven’t written in StarSai in a long time. I am worshipping Sai Baba at home and doing pooja regularly, but for some reason, after my father passed away, I am not able to understand what to write here to Sai devotees. Secondly, my ideas about Sai and spirituality have changed a lot.

Earlier, I used to assume that writing every day in StarSai was good, but now I feel I should keep StarSai a secret. I mean to say, when many people follow our writings, we tend to assume that we are serving Baba.

Not really. Each and every devotee who lands in this StarSai temple is serving Sai Baba. They have an interest and a curiosity to learn about Sai and find a solution to problems in their lives.

I am also not able to go to Nagasai mandir as before. I feel my father has given responsibility for my mother to me. So I only take my mom to the Nagasai mandir in Coimbatore, have dinner in a restaurant, and return when she can travel 10 kilometers in the car.

108 lamps pooja for Shirdi Sai Baba

After almost a year, I received a happy email from a couple of ardent Shirdi Sai Baba devotees living in two different places in India. Seems like they have seen the 108 lamp pooja I suggested and have decided to do the pooja at home.

So, I felt really good when they both emailed me.

Here’s an email from Archana

Hello Venkat Sir,

Hope you are doing well.

I was browsing a Pinterest app and there I came across starsai.com website and felt very good by seeing 108 diyas pooja and Sai devotees sharing their experiences.

A similar desire arose in me that one day even I have to light 108 diyas. I actually thought if this could ever be possible because I have a 2 and half-year-old son.

My father doesn’t believe in lighting 108 lamps, he says if we daily light a diya that is enough.so I thought he may not allow for this pooja. But there is a saying “if we really wish to do something then GOD will definitely fulfill our desire”. The same happened in my case.

Me and my friend has planned to lit 108 diyas on Dipawali (Thursday). Unfortunately I wasn’t able to perform, however by babas blessings I was able to perform the pooja on Kartika Purnima (Thursday). With the help of my mom, I lit 108 diyas, I’m sharing the photos of the same and the photos which my friend has lit on Deepawali.

This is the very first time that I’m sharing something online in a blog.

Thanks & Regards,
Archana

And, here’s an email from her friend Lavanya.

Hello Venkat ji,

Baba has gifted me with a best friend, I’m saying this because we are connected by Baba. When we met, our first conversation was :-

She – “Are you a Baba devotee?” Me – “Yes I’m. Are you too?”.

And that’s how gradually we became best friends.

She was once browsing the Pinterest app when she came across the starsai.com website, where she saw 108 diyas pooja and 108 sai devotees sharing their experiences. She was very elated after seeing that and shared the same with me. We too wished and were excited about doing 108 diyas for Sai Baba Puja one day.

Saibaba Diya Pooja

This incident just happened a few days prior to Diwali. We thought of lighting 108 diyas for Baba on Diwali and, to our joy, this year Diwali day was a Thursday, Baba’s day.
Baba has heard our wish and fulfilled it by helping us through the puja. With the help of my dad and grandmom, I lit 108 Diyas on Diwali, Thursday.

And, with the help of her mother, my friend lit 108 diyas on Kartika Purnima (Thursday).

I’m sharing photos of the same.

Om Sai Ram. Bow to Shri Sai Baba. May Baba bless us all.

Regards,
Sai Lavanya.

After many weeks, I published this post on StarSai. Please try to do 108 lamps pooja. You can also light 54 lamps or 27 lamps. Well, if you are busy, just light 2 lamps.

What matters is you should light lamps in a safe place.

Stay blessed

Venkat
