Sairam friends,
A month back, I had been to a Filmmaking workshop in Bangalore. Though my love for Filmmaking has come with me for over 20 years, I just wanted to see if storytelling has changed over the years.
Fortunately, Filmmaking grammer remains the same. Storytelling and screen-writing grammer remains the same. I met few guys during the workshop and felt happy for that.
Somehow, the past 3-4 days, I am remembering this stanza from a very old Bollywood film – Ashiqui 1.
Main Duniya Bhula Doon Ga Teri Chahat Mein – Aashiqui
I keep remembering below lyrics as I love the the tune. Its beautiful irrespective of being such an old song.
Seene se lag ja tu
Main hoon tera deewana
Mujhe tujhse milne se
Rokega kya zamana
Chhodunga na saath tera
Come in my arms
I’m your passionate lover
Stopping me from meeting you
The world won’t be able to do that
I won’t leave your side
As kids, my Sister and myself used to make fun of the stupid twist in most Bollywood movies.
A girl will fall in love with a poor guy. Her Father comes to know something is happening. She’ll be filthy rich that her Dad arranges a party. The poor guy also will invited for the party. Before the Party begins, the rich Dad will introduce a gentle man who happens to be another rich man’s son. He will add
“He’s going to marry my Daughter”.
Rich girl will be shocked, shed tears and the poor guy will start to sing a song!
My Sister and myself used to make fun of such scenes and ask why did this Dad actually throw a party? He must have locked his daughter in a room and forced her to marry. Instead, he makes her stand infront of crowd of friends and relatives to tell whom she should marry.
The irony is that, this is happening even today.
Parents know you will abide by their sentiments of friends, relatives and society. They will speak about their prestige which is non-existant for sure.
Several girls and some men are dictated by their parents on what they should do and whom they should marry.
So many girls has wrote me why their parents don’t like the guy they love for reasons which sounds weird to me.
When ever anyone writes me that their parents don’t like the girl or the guy, I prefer to take a neutral stand. How can I say Saibaba will help them? Sai can help when your parents or anyone involved are broadminded. Sai can never change one’s mindset. So bear withit and move on.
Thousands of men and women in this country have brokenup with someone they love and married someone else. Most of them seem to be happy.
Bollywood has become more sophisticated over these years but it does reflects the orthadox rituals of our society which burns our heart.
I still wish Saibaba blesses you and your loved one’s with peace of mind and ability to withstand the calamity.
Try to speak to your parents softly. They might listen. If not, wait few month to see if they would change. Else, accept life as it is. I don’t want you to take any wrong decision.
Sometimes, you might end up marrying a better man or women too. You never know whats good for you.
Life is certaintly a probability. So accept the twist positively. Be strong internally and focus on what you can do to enhance your skills and career.
Focus on something that will make you a better human being.
Life has its own ups and downs and you are not alone. Everyone in India has a Bollywood twist in their life.
Sai will take care of you no matter what happens.
Stay Strong. Be blessed!
After I lost over one lakh hair follicles on my head and the remaining became grey, I finally start to see all the sufferings I faced humorously. I am such an idiot to have shed tears for what I experienced in the past.
I did not know its just a bollywood scene replicating in my life for the some sins I would have done to some women in my previous several births.
Write to me. Write to me only if you are going to stray strong and live happily no matter what happens.
Love,
Venkat
Incase, you love old Bollywood songs, here’s it. I don’t even know if my Sister remembers all the fun we had. I am missing my Sister again. I am remembering the nighbourhood of her home. I love the streets, the walking I had, the cyclings I did. I miss those trees and little Bunny running around. I especially miss my niece.
Once when I was trying to climb an apple tree in park, she told “Be careful, you are old now”
LoL
That was funny.
