Sairam friends,
When I was a kid, I remember watching this old Cow boy movie called “For a few dollars more”. I think this sentence has more meaning to it. Most of our dreams and aspirations are focussed on money and how confortably, smartly we earn our living. When I wasn’t comfortable with few happenings at work, I realized that its OK to accept things as it is rather than complaining. I am here to earn my living and its OK when things which I don’t like happen. One of the reason I failed a lot in past is because I focussed on the end product – Money rather than what I would accomplish through something I “DO”.
Today, many youngters, especially in India are pushed to this scenario that they are judged by the money they make. If they don’t have a job or failed in business, they are hurt by their own dear one’s. Further, most decisions including marriage are made based on one’s wealth and what he/she earns. That alone sounds very funny to me as I can’t understand how anyone could judge that someone who’s wealthy/earns good when he/she is getting married could never be guaranteed to be in same status forever. Anyway, that’s how it works as the equation of money goes with “Happiness”.
My Sister has always told me something interesting –
“Do what you love and don’t be focussed on money because if you love what you do, rest of what you need will follow”
My friend came to pick me up. No car today. I am happy. Yesterday, I took car to office and was little moody as I was bored to come back alone. I can’t be lonely Sai. I need people around me to talk, bother and irritate.
Oh Yeah..For a few dollars more. That’s what we all are looking for but make sure you love what you do!
Om Sai Ram
