Sairam friends,
Early morning, Shirdi Saibaba blessed me with a very strange dream. It was like I am on a road on my way to the office. There’s this place which used to have lots of agricultural land before several years. I see myself in the bend of the road and looking into the farm being cultivated. There are a huge tree and a small Lord Ganesha temple near the road. I see some bunch of guys are picking stones and throwing down over something. Initially, I could not see what they are throwing the stones. Then, I see some Grey Squirrels running out of the bushes and running towards the Ganesha temple.
To my surprise, all the Squirrels standstill on road facing Ganesha temple. They stretch their two front legs forward and join them together as if they are worshiping Lord Ganesha. Within a few minutes, I see hundreds of such cute and sweet, small, and big grey Squirrels running to the road and stops facing the Ganesha temple and praying pitifully. Now, I understood the guys in the farmland have actually thrown stones over these Squirrels and killing them just to have fun or God knows what reason.
These Squirrels have no choice but to run away from their comfortable place to the roadside.
The dream was so vivid that I could see many Squirrels also have claimed the tree near Ganesha temple and are sitting in the same pose – Praying. I am trying to photograph there as it was so beautiful to see the scene. The bend in the road, early morning sunlight coming into the branches and leaves forming rays of light. The Squirrels formed patterns as they were like soldiers standing stiff in the same pose.
Suddenly, I woke up and wondered why Sai showed me such a dream.
In the morning, I searched Google for “Save the Squirrels” and read a few articles.
Grey Squirrels Vs Red Squirrels
In the U.K, The native Red Squirrels population is getting reduced because of Grey Squirrels which are immune to Squirrel pox. But seems Grey Squirrels transfer the disease to Red Squirrels. So some organizations are trying to trap Grey Squirrels and kill them. They claim that this helps them protect Red Squirrels.
Note – The Grey Squirrels belong to America. Grey squirrels were introduced into Britain in the late 19th century from 1876 onwards but they have developed immunity to withstand the weather and any other diseases. Red Squirrels are weak though they are native of Scotland and hence people are trying to protect them.
While this is happening in Scotland, The dream I saw was in India. Probably, Sai is telling me that in some corner of the world, some Men are harming animals for fun and these innocent Squirrels are pained by such activities.
There are some organizations protecting Squirrels in the U.S too. In India, we must teach kids about the value of living in harmony with nature, animals, and birds.
Squirrels in The National Geographic
May Lord Ganesha and Saint Shirdi Saibaba bless these sweet and Innocent Squirrels be it grey, Red, or any of more than 200 species.
