Hair loss, Dark circles and all that makes you worry and depressed for not being handsome and beautiful

Sairam friends,

In a spirituality, there are several occasions where hair is described as something unclean (I don’t get the right word for this).

Several years back, when I had hair loss, I was worried about it. It was a big issue for me. Later, I started offering hair to Lord Murugan in temples and in other temples too when ever I get opportunity. Many devotees tell me that I am lucky for getting several dreams but some dreams also shocks me.

During that time my Sister was in Germany. I called up and told her that I am really worried about hair loss. She told me “Here in Germany too, guys have this problem but I see they don’t bother it as they simple shave their head and move on”

I like this kind of Men and Women. If you can’t look good, its not your fault. You simply can’t try all the remedies on Earth and finally hurt yourself more. Just move on with life happily and think about your positive aspects.

It must be 4 years back. I was reading a holy book of 63 Nayanmars who served Lord Shiva. That night, I had a dream as if my hair gets fire and I loose all of them. I realized if you wanted to serve God, you must not worry about external appearance. This doesn’t mean one who serves saints must be hairless. Its just that Sai made me think beyond how I look and judge others based on how they look.

Sai never wanted one to offer hair but he appreciates if you give-up being too conscious about how you look.

I was thinking about writing this article because of this following incident.

I had a haircut recently and one of this guy at work told me “Why did you do haircut. It shows that you lost lots of hair”.

I replied him “But someday, I have to do it. Further, now a days, I am not bothered about it”.

I felt bad for him as he worried a lot about his hair loss.

I told him “Think about youngsters who have to go through several diseases and who suffer worse than such issues”

There are people who go through something which can never be fixed but we can always eat, sleep and smile. We just look different to others in the society. The most important reason hair loss, dark circles and other such issues leads to depression is because of peer pressure.

The world has pre-defined idea about beauty and it tries to fit you into that definition. If you don’t, they hurt you for being yourself

I think a lot before writing such issues in StarSai. So felt that I will write about it if Sai’s hints me.

I had a dream like this.

Some girls were sitting in a circle. I see that I am wrapping bunch of long hair in a paper as I am behind her. She turns back and pulls that paper from me. We see a photo of Meenakshi Amman in that paper and I am very happily telling every one “Here’s Meenakshi Amman in this paper”

I am not sure why I got this dream but earlier I wanted to write about Hair loss issue for guys alone but seems Sai wants me to realize many girls also get worried and even depressed because they have hair loss and these days, dark circles on their face.

Why I write about Dark circles?

Many of my friends worry about it. Further, the next big trend is Virtual reality gadgets. We are going to wear VR gadgets close to our eyes which might hurt our eyes a lot. So dark circles might be a common problem in future.  Please have healthy food and take care of your eyes. Its a gift from God.

When you are in a world which wants people to look, you might feel pressurized to look better. I have seen people trying different remedies and spend a lot. Nothing wrong in it. You can always seek remedies but whats more important is living for your happiness with what you have.

Simply move on with life.

You are handsome and beautiful for your Mom and Dad.

You must be beautiful for Sai and the Goddess you love.

You will be beautiful for what you do and not how you look

Do something that brings happiness to yourself, your family and everyone. Someday, the world will recognize you.

I am in hurry now but since these days, I am in love with Goddess Andal, I wish to post this story from Wikipedia for you.

Andal’s devotion on Lord Vishnu and her sacred Garland for him

One of the ancient stories about Andal tells that she dressed herself as a bride, looked in a mirror, and wore a flower garland. Periyalvar, busy in his daily preparations to go to the temple, took that same flower garland to the temple. The temple priest noticed a strand of Kodhai’s hair on one of the garlands and became annoyed that a used flower garland had been offered to the Lord Vishnu. Periyalvar was shocked, and realized that Andal had worn the garland. Meanwhile, Andal was happy thinking that her Lord would have accepted her garland.

She grew sad, however, when Periyalvar rebuked her saying that Lord Vishnu had refused to wear the garland. Later Periyalvar tied together new garlands for Lord Vishnu made up of fresh flowers and took them to the temple. Miraculously, however, the Merciful Lord said that He wanted only the garland which had been worn by Andal.

Periyalvar, in complete awe, immediately rushed to his house and brought the garland that Andal had worn (Periyalvar is believed to be an incarnation of Garudan, the vehicle of Lord Sri Vishnu). Thus, it became Periyalvar’s wish that Andal should marry only Lord Sri Vishnu. Andal then told her father about her beautiful dreams in which the Lord came on an elephant to wed her. Andal described how she had composed her dreams into poems such as ‘“Vaaranam Aayiram”.’

The poems describe how Andal and Lord Sri Vishnu got married according to customs and rituals. The marriage happened exactly as stated in “vaaranam aayiram” Her dreams were complete prediction, prophecy ,forethinking and reality. The bride, Andal, was then taken to the Srirangam temple where she entered the sanctum sanctorum and was ushered into the Lord’s presence.

Periyalvar and others present were wonderstruck on witnessing these events, but the wise Periyalvar remained balanced and the absence of his daughter never disturbed him or broke his heart. As a father, he felt that his daughter was married and sent to her husband’s home.

Keep being devoted to Sai and the Goddess you love.

Yes the world isn’t a super cool place for people who don’t look good or many of us who start to move away from the society’s definition of beauty.

We are here to explore something different and do something more meaningful.

Move on
