Sairam friends,

Many years back when me and my sister were in School, she got nervous problem and was continuously absent from school. My Parents really struggled to help her continue education. She basically had some fear in her mind and no Doctors were able to help her come out of it. I can’t precisely write what she was going through but it was really a very painful period in our family.

I never bother my sister most of the time as she’s adamant girl but when she’s in pain, I could not bear it and since I was only in 4th standard, I used to cry when she’s in pain. One of those reasons I became too religious. From childhood, prayers were a part of my life. When I was 5 years old my Mom was not well and when I was 8, my Sister was not well.

Once my Mom was telling her she must remember Anjaneyar as we call Hanuman in South India and he will be bless her with purity of thoughts and she doesn’t have to fear for anything or anyone. The moment my Mom uttered this word, a letter flew from the attic and my Mom took it. It was a letter written by one of my Mom’s relative who is an ardent Hanuman Devotee. He had wrote her a Mantra of Hanuman and asked her to recite it 108 times.

I was surprised and being little, I asked my Mom how come Hanuman knows we are speaking about him and immediately the letter with his holy mantra flew down to us. My Mom said “Its the powers of Hanuman. He is listening to us to make your sister healthy”

My Amma taught the Mantra to my Sister and from then on, she kept reciting this Hanuman mantra. My Sister gradually gained her inner strength and by Hanuman grace, she continued her schooling and did well in studies. When ever my sister has any problem my Mom used to motivate her saying she really crossed a lot in past and must not worry for small things.

The reason I wrote this incident is because I really feel happy for my devotion on Hanuman these days. The more I remember Hanuman, the more clear and peaceful my mind becomes. I also like the name “Hanu” as I find it really sweet and beautiful.
Most of us doesn’t have time for reading Hindu epics and scriptures but when you find time, please buy some books and read patiently. I recently bought a Anjaneyar Puranam book and reading it makes me feel blissful. I feel so divine and pure internally.

The way Hanuman goes to find Sita and brings her back safe to her beloved Rama is truly shows is dedication on Rama and his willingness to serve Rama all his life.

Though Hanuman himself is a Miracle worker and can do lots of good to his devotees, Hanuman always likes to sing the glory of Ram-Sita.

I read your article about Hanuman ji. I’m a Hanuman bhakt since childhood. I learnt Hanuman Chalisa and chant it regularly.

Hanuman ji is a very powerful god and in Ramayan, Ram bhagwan blesses him saying Hanuman ji will be on earth forever. It is said that Hanuman ji resides in the Himalayas and comes to rescue his devotees who call him in pain.

Hanuman Temple in Kanpur near River Ganga – Gola wale Hanuman ji

In my mother’s hometown Kanpur, U.P., there is a small temple near Ganga river. It is said that the idol is swayambhu (meaning that the idol evolved by itself), I don’t know the exact story, but a person had a dream where in Hanuman ji asked him to build a temple there. It is a small temple, part of it is a house where a family lives and the steps side by lead to the Ganga river., you can say that the temple is situated at the bank of Ganga nadi. It is, I guess, the only temple in the world where Hanuman ji’s mouth is open, that’s the reason it is known as Gola wale Hanuman ji. Dry coconut balls are offered as Prasad which is directly offered in Hanuman ji’s mouth.

It is a very powerful temple, although it is not known by many there. My mummy says that whatever you ask wholeheartedly, Hanuman ji fulfils our wish, & if its not meant to be fulfilled he indicates us somehow. I visited Gola wale Hanuman ji temple last year and I’ll send you a picture I’d taken from phone.
