How to get rid of Sins of Speech

Sairam friends,

Now a days, I realized that I speak a lot and also make fun of my friends and others. At some point, I must be careful so that I don’t hurt anyone. Even during meetings, am not able to be calm and talk something which may not be right thing to do.

I get irritated when someone dominates the guys and girls working hard at my workplace and show off that he only is doing everything and it makes me speak out though I can’t directly point out. I have this nature to get nervous when someone is doing injustice to others who are dedicated to their work.

The past 3 days, I felt its not good for me to speak out like this and better remain calm. Lets see.

Anyway, I was making fun the other day saying someone has planned to arrange press meet this evening from The Hindu to write about the software but instead reporters from Tamil women’s magazine will come to write about it….he he…”Sir, Naanga Kumudam Snegidhila irundhu varom”.

I went and said this to all my friends and we all extended this joke with all possible imagination on Earth and made fun of what might happen.

I know for sure that doing such silly talk is not encouraged by Saibaba but Sai himself had sense of humor. Sai makes used to tease Tatya, Kusha Bhav and many of his close devotees.

Spiritually speaking, Speaking itself is a sin to an extent. Sai never speaks most of the time. Many devotees write me “I wish that I live during Baba’s life time so that I can hold his feet and ask him to tell me what’s going to happen”.

You think Sai did that during his lifetime? Sai will utter very few words and only when the time is ripe for the devotees to know. Sai preferred to stay silent as he wanted the devotee to understand whats good for him/her by themselves.

My Mom’s not well and has stomach ache. Baba please heal my Ma.

I can give you some times to get rid of sins of speech

1. Do not hurt anyone with words and even if you did without any intention, apologize to them.

2. Speak what is liked. Speak about good things.

3. Do not gossip or speak ill of others. ( I myself simply find faults in others but deep in me, I do tell myself that they do have a good part in them which I also share with my friends)

4. Do not keep texting harshly and do not call anyone to speak harshly. Better don’t talk to anyone when you are angry.

5. Chant Sai, Sai, Sai in mind. Remember Shirdi Saibaba or any Gods, Goddess you love for few minutes a day.

6. Do not mingle with people who speaks things which is not good.

7. Be calm. Silence is an Art.

8. Speak to people because this makes them feel you respect them but speak little.

That’s it.

Today, I have to go out with my friend for printing work and its going to be a long day for us. I did a video for my organization with photos and caption. I enjoyed doing it a lot and planning to do similar work for Sai devotees.

Let’s see.

Take care of your words because every time you speak good, you add to your good karma.

Sai bless.

  • Yes silence is a great virtue.
Venkatji, the fact that you recognize things that are not right in the workplace is already great. It may be wise not to attempt to fight other people’s battles for them.
Small talk is for small people. We must rise above all this and manasa, vacha, karmana try not to hurt others even if we cannot do anything good.

It is difficult and most people try to climb by pulling others down. But if we are in the path of dharma we will find peace.
