Sairam friends,
I kept listening to few songs tonight and wondered what to write. If i listen to movie songs, it gives me painful memories of my past when I was into Films. But then life goes on… I have plans to make a resource site for independent movies and hope it happens sometime in my life so that I will get a satisfaction of creating a platform at least for others who wish to grow as a Filmmaker.
Anyway, This evening I went to Nagasai mandhir. Got my 3 little earthern lamps and went to light it from the Big lamp of the temple which is supposed to be lit always. I saw the oil in the big lamp has got emptied and so even the wicks got burnt. I thought that the lamp has been put off hours before and lifted it with my fingers. My figures got burnt ..he he…seems the lamp has just got put off.I dropped it back on the tray and lit my 3 lamps.
I came inside Dwarakamai and asked baba “Enaku Soodu Vaikiriya nee”…. ( Sai, Are you burning my finger? )
The priest told me “Nee yedhaadhu Thappu paneerpa” ( You must have done something wrong)
I told the priest and Sai ” Yes probably, I must have done many things wrong in this and previous birth ….So i get burnt while cleaning Dhuni every now and then.”
Then I asked the priest to help me make wicks for the big earthen lamps which he did. I got Oil from the shop, poured it in the lamp, placed the wicks and lit it….I felt happy…really happy when ever i lit lamps.
Lighting Lamps which are put off due to wind…
Everyday, After I get the 3 lamps, I go to dwarakamai, Keep kumkum over lamps, take a pinch with my finger and keep it over the Dhuni as i see Dhuni as a Sacred Goddess. Then, I lit my 3 lamps.
After lighting my Lamps, I clean the tray where they keep lamps. Some people throw away the lamps which still has ghee but had been put off by wind but it pains me when I see a lamp with Ghee and not lit. I carefully pick only the lamps which are empty and put it in the dust bin. Then I light each and every lamp which has Ghee kept by some devotee.
When ever I see a Lamp in any temple being put off by wind, my mind wishes to lit them. Some devotees feel, its not good to light the lamps which are kept by other devotees. I don’t have such rules and restrictions. To me, Lamp is very sacred and all the 33 crore angels live in a Lamp. When a Lamp is put off by wind, we have to bring back life to it.
I have read this famous story written in the wall of Lord Surya temple near Kumbakonam…
There was a Rat which was moving around in a temple in search of Food. In the place it was running, there was a Lamp which was about to be off as the wicks was sinking into the oil of the lamp. While trying to look for food, the Rat did something strange that the wicks came out enough to let the lamp glow brighter. The Merit ( Punya) earned by the Rat by lighting a lamp which was about to be put off unknowingly was so great. In its next birth the Rat was born as a King.
Hmm….
So the moral of the Story
Light Lamps !
Its your own interest to light the lamp which is put off as some families will have million rules to follow but make sure you light a new lamp when ever you get a chance.
Shirdi Sai Baba loves lighting lamps too..Sai used to light lamps in the railings of Dwarakamai and we all know how Sai used water to light lamps. I keep writing about lighting lamps in many different ways and keep doing it all life.
For many years, when ever someone tells me their problem, I request them to light lamps…
Story of a Girl who got married to someone whom she loved..
In 2007, I had a friend who was worried about about her marriage. She was in love with someone and asked me to pray for her. I requested her to light 27 lamps in Dwarakamai. I went to Mumbai later and din’t had much contacts with her. Four years later, I saw some girl coming near me with a child and said ‘Sairam Venkat !”
I stared at her trying to remember her and said “Yeeee Sairammmm”
I saw the child she was holding on her hip and was about to ask something…She said “Enn ponnu dhaan’ …”Its my baby”… Then met her hubby and gave Udi from Shirdi.
Now don’t ask me if you will get back your love or marry someone you love if you too light 27 lamps. Its a matter of one’s one karma, belief, mind set, family support etc.
I can assure, Your life will be filled with peace and happiness if you light lamps regularly at home and temple who ever you marry.
If you have 10 minutes time every morning, you can try below Shradha Saburi Pooja …
Its not just marriage issue, Who ever writes me with any problem be it Health, Career or any issue, I request them to light lamps. Sometimes very rarely, devotees abroad ask me is it OK to put on electric bulb..I get irritated with such questions.
Lamp is a LAMP…You have to light a real beautiful divine lamp with Ghee, Wicks and let it shine with all its glory…
Make sure you light lamp in safe place and remain in home when its lit….
Sai blessings
May Sai live in your home and heart in the form of light that emerges from the Lamp…
Let the Lamp of Sai Shine forever…
Its 12.40 at night friends….I shall go and sleep before my parents come and advice me ….am sleepyyyyy baba….come in my dream please…show me a way…Don’t make me preach all devotees who come to starsai like this. You never preached anyone Sai….
May Goddess Saraswathi bless me with Buddhi to write articles which are sweet like your leela.
Everyone are bored with my stupid love stories and trying to find a girl who can tolerate me…he he… Am really confused with life Sai… For first time in life, I wish it would have been better if i was born in some other country where Son or daughter getting married means everything for parents.
Hmm…as Swami Vivekananda said,
“You can take a Man out of India but not a Indian out of a Man”
Even if I had born in some other country, I would have been blessed with the same parents and I would have been the same me.
So I am here to accept life as parents wishes me to.
Bring light in my life Sai and live in me as light forever !
Love
Venkat
