Sairam Friends,
I am sure there were incidents during Shirdi Saibaba’s life time where devotees went to Dwarakamai on New Year day to get his blessings. Probably Sai personally touched every devotees heart with his positive greetings and advice.
I tried to imagine that every one who read this actually is now in holy Dwarakamai and Sai is really there with his divine form. Each one of us go in to Dwarakamai early in the morning with flowers – Devotees who perceive Saibaba as Saraswathi goes to him with Garland of 108 White Lotus, Those who realized Sai as Mahalakshmi carries garland of 108 Pink Lotus.
Women affectionately make garland of Red Roses and Jasmine !
Devotees who perceive Saibaba as a Saint take wicks, lamp and ghee to light lamp in Dwarakamai as expression of their love on Sai so that Sai will bring light in everyone’s life.
Let me imagine myself friends…
I step inside Dwarakamai and Say
“Baba, i need your Ashirwad – Blessings”
I could see Sai with a very divine white kafni and a white tarban around his head. Devotees has already applied sandal paste on his forehead and kumkum makes him divine. I continue
“Baba, i am a lazy fellow…so din’t came to you early morning at 4 like other devotees. I woke up late and have got a plate full of cakes for you ” I keep the Cakes on the floor of Dwarakamai, sit near baba and offer the following sacred things
1. Coconut and a sapling of Coconut and Tulsi plant – As coconut Tree and Tulasi is very sacred according to me.
2. Beetle Nuts – As Beetle leaf is considered to be Mahalakshmi
3. Two Apples and 100 Oranges ( as it comes in Sai Satcharitra….he he )
4. I also take 500 sets of bangles
I say
“Baba, i offer you this Coconut and request you to bless me, my family and all Sai devotees. Let us all respect Nature. Bless these sapling of coconut Tree and Tulsi so that we all learn to respect Nature and plant trees and plants when ever we get chance. ”
Baba takes the tulsi sapling in his left hand, takes a pinch of UDI ( sacred ash) in his right hand and drops inside the mud as a blessing for the Tulsi.
Then i offer Beetle Nuts to Baba and say, Baba, i offer these beetle nuts to you as you are our Mahalakshmi. Let our life be filled with auspicious moments.
Sai baba now takes the Beetle nuts and chews them happily.
Then i offer two Apples and 100 oranges to baba and say , Baba i bought these two apples for you and the 100 Oranges are collected from Devotees who read this ( who are also present in Dwarakamai). Baba bless us to come out of lust, greed, anger and all our bad thoughts and habits.
Baba smiles to me, takes his Satka ( short stick ) and hits my head affectionately. This i consider to me his own way of saying me “Happy New Year”.
I fall in the holy feet of Shirdi Saibaba and say
“Baba, you are my Heart. You are my soul and all i wish is – You keep remembering me always and i too should keep remembering you all my life.”
I know you have assured that after your samadhi , Your bones will be speaking about our welfare.
Baba asks me
“Venkat, You did you bring this huge sack full of bangles”
I say “Baba, these are glass Bangles in various sizes which women wear. I offer it for you so that you can give it as a blessing and gift to every child, girl and women who comes to you. Let every women in our country be protected by your ashirwad. Let our men learn to respect women and women too learn to respect men. Let everyone give value to others freedom to lead a peaceful life. ”
Baba knew why i got it for him as he is antaryami but he wants me to say and write this because that’s the way saints work. Sai wants me to write this when India is going through painful incidents and i humbly offer my prayers to Sai to protect each and every child and women of our country.
Hope you like this New year blessings from Shirdi saibaba friends.
Lets being 2013 Positively.
