Sairam friends,
My internet connection is not working well at home. So could not write past 2-3 days. I was really upset about it. The good part is, every morning I did Abishekam – Holy bath to Sai, Datta, Saraswathi, Ganesha and Mahalakshmi as the time I write article was spent doing pooja.
I went to office yesterday and was so eager to make beautiful greeting card for Women’s day. I searched for a beautiful pink rose and bunch of white roses, a little girl. I asked the designer to work on these and gave the quotes.
“If you are not born with wings, do nothing to stop them from growing”
It was said by Coco Chanel (19 August 1883 – 10 January 1971) who was a French fashion designer and founder of the Chanel brand. She is the only fashion designer listed on Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people of the 20th century.
The designers din’t use the beautiful flowers photo I suggested. So I was upset and din’t bother them. Anyway, After a while I thought about this whole concept of people celebrating Women’s day. It helps many girls and women to feel special as its a day to feel good about being what they are.
On the other hand, we are not talking about girls and women who are already leading a normal life. We are concerned about girls and women who doesn’t have freedom to do what they want and desire.
In the past 10 years, many Sai devotees had mailed me about the problems in their life. Some are in school, some during higher education, some are working women and some who are old. There are girls who doesn’t have basic freedom to do little things they desire as their parents control them for keeping every step they take on planet Earth.
Most of the mails I receive from devotees about the relationship problem they face.
“Parents are not accepting our love as we are from different cast, My husband is not good to me, I feel cheated, etc”
There are times I get similar mails from men too.
Basically, Parents in India are too protective that they desire their daughter must marry only the guy they suggest and finally are these arranged marriages resulting only in happiness? I know hundreds of women who are married for years and never spent a day without worries.
If a girl can’t choose whom she desires to marry and spend rest of her life, does celebrating Women’s day mean anything for her?
If a Mother cannot get the respect and love she deserves from her husband and her own children, does celebrating women’s day change her life?
There are few Women who sacrifice their life for their family. These are Mother’s who bring up their son and daughter with so much love and finally as they grow up, they won’t bother to respect their Mother.
So many girls are tolerating their brother who are almost like monsters and even in western countries there are girls who suffer because of the men they trust.
Celebrating Women’s day really is benefiting girls and women who are already happy or just a way to relax for few girls. Spiritually speaking, when ever I suffer, I used to think that its happening because I must have done a sin to few women in my previous birth. So when ever I get chance, I try to do little good deeds I can for girls I meet in this birth. May be I have disturbed a few because when you get close to someone, you start to like them.
This is where I need to work on. I must learn how to do good to people with out attachment.
The good part is, When ever I like a girl and face sufferings due to it, I believe my past karmic deed is being washed away. Many Sai devotees write me “Why do we suffer even when I only do good?”
Sai is a good saint and is taking care of us but there are few karmic bond which will be washed away only when you go through the suffering. We can’t escape all sufferings and difficulties with Sai devotion. In fact Sai likes devotees who stick to him even during such suffering.
Coming back to Women’s day, do the following
1. Never hurt a Women be it your friend, sister, Mom or a stranger. ( If a girl has harmed you, say a word or two and keep distance. )
2. Don’t bother/disturb a girl who’s not interested in you. ( Yes. I have done this)
3. Love your wife, Sister and Mother unconditionally. ( This doesn’t mean giving a gift or taking them out. This “Love”means being true to them for a life time)
4. and ….
I don’t know what to write. I just feel Sai and Goddess Lakshmi whom I adore must bring more freedom, harmony and happiness in lives of millions of girls and women who are going through sufferings.
